Students in Dr. Krishna Nath’s Principles of Zoology class at UA Rich Mountain recently had the opportunity to gain practical experience in conducting field research with accomplished Geologist Dr. Jeff Pettman. Dr. Pettman is a well-studied geologist, earning a B.S. in Geology, a M.S. in Geology, and then a PhD in Vertebrate Paleontology from the University of Texas at Austin. UARM students were able to learn from Dr. Pettman and collect data on various aspects here locally. The group took a zoological tour to understand the biodiversity of the Ouachita Mountains Biological Station (OMBS) in Mena. Students documented their findings in a comprehensive report and had a little fun along the way.

UA Rich Mountain’s mission is to provide transformative education to all learners.
