Associate of Arts in Teaching
The Associate of Arts Degree is awarded by University of Arkansas Rich Mountain to students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution in order to complete a teaching baccalaureate degree.
AAT will be awarded when the student meets the basic skills requirement (Praxis Core, ACT, SAT, or equivalent measures) for the receiving four-year institution. Students should check with their transfer institution for admission requirements into the institution’s teaching program.
Program Outcomes
- After participating in this program and successfully completing the required courses, the student will be able to do the following:
- Create learning experiences that make aspects of subject matter engaging for diverse learners.
- Describe how assessment data (formative, summative, and standardized) is used to plan ongoing instruction.
- Demonstrate competency in mathematics education and utilizing their analytical and occupational skills to solve real-life problems.
- Show improvement in their writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills.
- Increase their understanding of different cultures and societies across the globe and how both have changed over time.
- Increase their understanding of basic principles and their application in physical and biological sciences.
- Increase their technological and research skills.
